Government, Government

      • The Government of the Northwest Territories:
Still under development, this nicely organized site is well worth visiting. You'll find biographies of the NWT's 24 newly-elected MLAs, information about the NWT Legislative Assembly and the GNWT's departments and agencies, a message from Premier Don Morin, as well as press releases, maps, pictures and a graph illustrating the GNWT's budget. Eventually, they'll have online postings of territorial government job opportunities.

      • Northwest Territories Legislation Online
For law junkies and others intersted in researching territorial legislation.

      • The GNWT Department of Education, Culture and Employment:
A great piece of work, this page contains an excellent collection of links to Arctic and aboriginal sites, and much, much more.

      • The GNWT Department of Health and Social Services:
There's not much on this site yet, but you'll find a few odds and ends that shed light on GNWT health and social policy, including some downloadable pdf documents.

      • Indian and Northern Affairs Canada:
        Yes, the much-maligned DIAND has a web-site.

      • The Government of Canada:
The government of Canada's new home page. An excellent entry point for any search of Canadian government information.

      • The Parliamentary Internet:
Links to the House of Commons, Senate, and an online version of Hansard.

      • Canada's Legislatures:
The federal Parliament and provincial legislatures on the Internet.

      • The National Library of Canada Gopher:
A marvellous set of gopher links to hundreds of Canadian sites, and reams of text-based information.

      • The Unofficial Canadiana Page:
        Why not?

      • List of Canadian Government Sites:
A long list of sites maintained by Canadian federal government departments and agencies.

      • CIA World Factbook 1994:
